Ung Chanrattana will serve as The Y Groups Chairman. Chanrattana has over 10 years of experience working with Local NGOs in Cambodia in the implementation of both humanitarian and development projects. During these years he has managed projects related to aquaculture’s relation to Livelihoods, (food security, incomes and market access / market facilitation), Natural Resource Management, and WASH. He worked on Feed the Future’s rice field fishery project, funded by USAID through the WorldFish center, to adopt technologies and practices and scale the program model to over 200 more households. This included improving the poly-culture techniques and usage of small micro nutrient rich fish. Chanrattana worked with Community life Competency Process (CLCP) and Participatory Action Research to implement the Aquatic Agriculture System Program, by creating community visioning under coordination of WorldFish and ADIC. Finally, Chanrattana has served as a national consultant for rapid the assessment study on good community fish refuges management practice for Food security in four provinces with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO).

FEED THE FUTURE CAMBODIA-RICE FIELD FISHERIES II
USAID/WorldFish Center – 2016

Organized project inception workshop at provincial and facilitate inception workshop at community level which will be invite varies stakeholders such as local authorities, FiAC, PDWORAM, Community Fish Refuges committee.
Formulated group of Community Fish Refuges committee and re-structure existing community which expired to be recognized by Fishery administration contentment.
Conduct training for local communities and stakeholders on the specific Community Fish Refuges interventions to be introduced such as basic ecology and management of RFF environment, fishery law, and methods for monitoring and assessments of successful project achievements. Training opportunities will be provided equitably to both men and women in the communities
Developed a detailed action plan for intervention at all sites identified.
Carried out a series of baseline surveys to establish reference for biological monitoring and the impact assessment of the project interventions.
Conducted a series of periodical surveys following the protocol to collect data and monitor seasonal and year-to-year changes in the set of key indicators.
Organized annual reflection workshops, periodic site visits and study tours for other relevant organizations for effective lessons-sharing and demonstration of activities at the project sites.

IMPROVE LIVELIHOOD AND NUTRITION THROUGH AQUACULTURE
EU-IFAD through WorldFish – 2017

Improve knowledge of aquaculture by providing eco-training on aquaculture technique to farmers.
Establish demo of nutrition sensitivity aquaculture pond and management of aquaculture model.
Improve knowledge and awareness of women with young children regarding the important of fish and dietary diversity, appropriate food preparation, hygiene and sanitation.
Enhance knowledge and document lessons learned from nutrition sensitivity aquaculture development.

RESEARCHING ON NATURAL BREEDING AND ARTIFICIAL INCUBATION OF GIANT SNAKE HEAD AT FISHERIES STATION

Conducted research in association with Professor Kea Kim Eng on the current state of breeding and incubation for Cambodia Aquaculture.
Analyzed data and reported on best practices and improvements for snake head aquaculture fisheries.

RELEVANT WORK HISTORY

Trailblazer Cambodia Organization promotes community-based natural resource management practice in the rural targeted areas of Siem Reap, Cambodia by providing agriculture training and organic vegetable production as well as empowering rural villagers to create self-help groups (SHG), village saving groups (VSG), village organization (VO), community base organization (CBO) and various village committees (VC). Additionally, Trailblazer Cambodia Organization conducts water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects including water access such as pump wells and pit wells, typical latrines and improving their potable water through bio-sand water filters.

In charge of national consultants for rapid assessment study on good community fish refuges management practice for food security in four provinces with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation. As the result, the rapid assessment report was produced for sharing with stakeholders to document and share the finding with relevant intervention measure to be implemented by the project team. It also served as the project document, which recorded the good practice for community fish refuge allowing the FAO and WorldFish in coordination with FiA to produce the latter modules for Rice Field Fishery Enhancement Training.
